Wedding photographer in Senlis

Notre-Dame Cathedral, medieval old town, Valois castles — heart city for weddings.

Senlis is one of the most sought-after towns in Oise for weddings: the 12th-century Notre-Dame Cathedral, the town hall at the heart of the cobbled old town, medieval alleys and Gallo-Roman ramparts. The town also sits at the exact centre of a triangle of reception venues I know by heart, Pontarmé 10 minutes away, Ermenonville 15 minutes, Chantilly 20 minutes. I've been photographing in Senlis for 10+ years: town hall, religious ceremonies, couple sessions in the pedestrian streets and receptions in the Valois castles.

Notre-Dame de Senlis cathedral ceremonies: diocesan authorization to obtain 30 days ahead. I know the rectory and liturgical constraints (no flash, limited movement, side-aisle framing), we prepare all of it together beforehand.

Couple sessions in the old town: cathedral forecourt, rue de la Tonnellerie, ramparts, jardin du Roy. Cobblestones, shaded alleys, stone facades, everything you need for timeless portraits in natural light, especially in late afternoon. At Lina and Cherif's wedding, while guests were heading to the Château de Pontarmé for the cocktail, we did the couple session on foot in the pedestrian streets: twenty minutes walking as a duo in these alleys often gives the album more than an hour of forced poses.

I work regularly at Senlis town hall. In September 2023, Ophélie and Vincent said yes there in the beautiful old ceremony room (wood panelling, chandelier, mural painting), before the Saint-Martin church in Borest and the reception at the Domaine de Monceaux. Logistics tip: the centre is pedestrian, you park at a distance, rather on the church side, and we build it into the schedule from the start.

Around Senlis, I return to the same Valois castles every season. Pontarmé, 10 minutes away: Jennifer and Eddy's first look in the rotunda in September 2024, Alice and Allan's winter wedding under the Christmas wreaths in December 2025. Ermenonville, 15 minutes: Coralie and Prince among the Gothic ruins of the park in September 2024. Chantilly, 20 minutes: Manon and Kevin at the Racecourse facing the Belle Époque stands in May 2024. The Ferme de Maubuisson in Verneuil-en-Halatte and the Abbaye Royale du Moncel complete the area.

The detail that brings me back: the end-of-day light on the stone of Senlis and the nearby castles. If your schedule allows a fifteen-minute sunset break, we take it, it is often the best series of the day.

Ceremony in Senlis then reception at a nearby castle: it is the most common pattern here and I know the routes to the kilometre. I arrive before the couple at every stage, day-before presence available, photo + video duo coverage with my team.

The signature venue

Senlis is one of France's best-preserved royal cities: it is here that Hugues Capet was elected King of the Franks in 987, at the royal castle whose remains adjoin the Jardin du Roy. The 12th-century Notre-Dame Cathedral (one of France's first Gothic cathedrals), Gallo-Roman ramparts and cobbled medieval streets of the historic centre complete the setting. For weddings, the combination of cathedral, pedestrian streets and garden offers three radically different photographic backdrops within 500 metres, a density few French cities can claim. 20 minutes from Chantilly, 45 minutes from Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle.

Weddings we covered in the area

Seen and lived in Senlis

Ophélie & Vincent Mairie de Senlis · Domaine de Monceau · September 2023

Ophélie and Vincent's wedding in September 2023: ceremony at Senlis town hall on the pedestrian street (parking required at a distance), couple shoot in the medieval old town then reception at the Domaine de Monceau. The oblique early-September light on the stone façades offers a warmth impossible to reproduce in studio — exactly what we look for in 6 PM portraits.

Sarah & Anthony — séance pré-wedding Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Senlis · October 2025

Sarah and Anthony's pre-wedding session in October 2025 in front of the Notre-Dame Cathedral. Sarah was quite anxious about being photographed in public — the pre-wedding session serves exactly that: breaking the ice with the lens before the big day, scouting favorable angles, calibrating trust with the photographer. The result: natural images they used as save-the-date.

Lina & Cherif Senlis (rues piétonnes) · Château de Pontarmé · August 2022

Lina and Cherif's wedding: while guests were heading to the Château de Pontarmé for the cocktail, we did the couple shoot on foot in the pedestrian streets of Senlis. What couples rarely understand before the big day: 20 minutes walking as a duo in Senlis alleys is more powerful for the album than a forced hour on a crowded forecourt.

Magalie & Romain-Olivier Zone Senlis — cérémonie civile + domaine local · March 2022

Magalie and Romain-Olivier's wedding in March 2022 in the Senlis area. Off-season wedding (March): fewer guests to coordinate, more time for the couple session, grazing winter light that sculpts faces — a type of wedding we love to cover and that deserves more couples.

Jennifer & Eddy Château de Pontarmé (10 minutes de Senlis) · September 2024

Jennifer and Eddy's wedding at the Château de Pontarmé, 10 minutes from Senlis. We set up the first look in the château's grand rotunda: white columns, high moulded ceilings, brass lantern, and the backlight from the old diamond-paned windows drawing two silhouettes towards each other. That kind of image is never improvised, you anticipate it by knowing the venue, and this spot must be claimed early in the day before guests fill the spaces.

Alice & Allan Château de Pontarmé (10 minutes de Senlis) · December 2025

Alice and Allan's winter wedding at Pontarmé in December 2025, one of my best weddings at this venue. Christmas wreaths with red ribbons on the carved wooden door, white lanterns framing the steps, end-of-day light tinting the stone a warm ochre: December at Pontarmé is photogenic in a way few venues can offer. A winter wedding in the Senlis area is something I recommend without hesitation.

Coralie & Prince Château d'Ermenonville (15 minutes de Senlis) · September 2024

Coralie and Prince's wedding at the Château d'Ermenonville in September 2024, fifteen minutes from Senlis. The photographic identity of the venue is the ruined part of the park: an open-air medieval abbey, Gothic arches still standing, tall trees all around. We went there as a couple session during the cocktail, with the late-afternoon light grazing the façades. The venue is so well oriented that time flies: we arrive with a defined list of spots so we miss nothing.

★★★★★

Cassandra and Jean-Baptiste are an exceptional team. From first contact to album delivery, perfect support. The photos lived up to expectations — natural, sincere, never stiff. Special mention to the couple session in the streets of Senlis, we forgot there was a photographer.

Frequently asked questions

Are you a full-time photographer?

Yes — 10 years of experience exclusively in weddings and events. Cassandra handles bookings and communication, Jean-Baptiste shoots, Mounir and Peter join for duo coverage.

How much does a wedding photo session cost?

Base package from €1,080 for a half-day. Full day between €1,800 and €2,800 depending on coverage and options. Custom quote after we discuss your brief, venue and timeline.

Do you shoot film or all digital?

All digital with two Sony A7 full-frame bodies. Color consistency, delivery speed and low-light quality (indoor ceremonies, evening parties) demand digital. Film-look aesthetic available in post-production if you prefer.

Can we see a full wedding?

Yes — private gallery of a recent wedding (with the couple's permission) is sent so you can see the look across a full day, not just Instagram images. It's important to project yourself.

How do you behave during the ceremony?

Discreetly and silently — cameras in electronic shutter mode (no sound), movement only at key moments (entrance, exit, ring exchange). No flash, no interruption.
