Wedding photographer at Moulin du Pont de Beauce

Moulin du Pont de Beauce, Dampierre-en-Yvelines (Yvelines). Stone-walled reception barn, garden, Chevreuse valley. Our photo booth ran there in September 2026.

Wedding photographer at Moulin du Pont de Beauce, in Dampierre-en-Yvelines, in the Chevreuse valley. A former mill with its stone-walled reception barn, a large garden and a gîte on site. We set up our photo booth there in September 2026 for a reception: the barn, draped in white, keeps its exposed stone walls behind the guests.

Our approach: auteur photography, a cinematic eye, reading emotions. A stone-walled barn is photographed with its own light: the stone warms skin tones in the evening, and the white drapes under the roof soften the daylight coming through the large openings.

The Chevreuse valley lends itself to couple portraits without leaving the area: the valley's woodland and meadows are a few minutes away, and the village of Dampierre has its château by the road. An hour before dinner is enough, timed to the season.

For the booth, the barn offers a ready-made backdrop: stone wall and white drapes, no backdrop to put up. In September 2026, the evening's prints came out with that setting behind every group, throughout the reception.

Dampierre-en-Yvelines is in the south of the Yvelines, between Rambouillet and Chevreuse. We travel there from the Oise and from our depot in Asnières-sur-Seine, on Saturdays as on weekdays.

The mill sits in the heart of the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse regional nature park, some thirty kilometres from Paris as the crow flies. For a booth, that means a delivery slot to agree early with the venue, set up before guests arrive; for the photography, couple portraits without taking the car, between the barn, the garden and the mill itself.

Frequently asked questions

Have you worked at Moulin du Pont de Beauce before?

Yes, with the photo booth, in September 2026, for a reception in the barn. We have not photographed a wedding there yet: so we scout the venue before the day, as for any new place.

Where should the photo booth go in the barn?

Against the stone wall, under the white drapes: that is where it stood in September 2026, and that backdrop is enough, with nothing to put up. All it needs is a power socket nearby and enough room in front for groups.

Does the booth work for a daytime reception at the mill?

Yes. In September 2026 the reception started in the afternoon and the booth ran in full daylight: its flash and the barn's light are enough, and daylight through the openings does not spoil the prints.

Are you a full-time photographer?

Yes — 10 years of experience exclusively in weddings and events. Cassandra handles bookings and communication, Jean-Baptiste shoots, Mounir and Peter join for duo coverage.

Do you do an engagement session before the wedding?

Yes — optional 1.5h session in a location chosen with you (urban exterior, nature, meaningful place). It's a chance to get used to the camera so the wedding day feels more natural.

What poses should we plan for a couple photo session?

None, and that is deliberate. Learned poses show in the photos: couples look like they are holding a position rather than living a moment. We give simple directions, walk, talk to each other, turn around, and we photograph what happens between two instructions. That is exactly what a pre-wedding session is for, offered as an option alongside the wedding package: you get used to the lens when nothing is at stake, so on the wedding day that step is already behind you.

How much does a wedding photo session cost?

Base package from €1,080 for a half-day. Full day between €1,800 and €2,800 depending on coverage and options. Custom quote after we discuss your brief, venue and timeline.

Do you shoot film or all digital?

All digital with two Sony A7 full-frame bodies. Color consistency, delivery speed and low-light quality (indoor ceremonies, evening parties) demand digital. Film-look aesthetic available in post-production if you prefer.

How much does a wedding photographer cost?

In France, the range runs from €1,500 to €3,000 for a full day. Our packages start at €1,080, including the private online gallery, retouched photos and usage rights, and at €1,944 for the photo + video duo. What moves a quote is not the number of photos but the hours of coverage, whether a second shooter is present, and the deliverables: printed album, pre-wedding session, video alongside. Our prices are published on the pricing page, with no mandatory quote step.

Photo session, shoot, engagement session, pre-wedding: what is the difference?

None: they are different words for the same thing. Photo session and shoot are the everyday terms, couple session says what is being photographed, engagement session is the American term and usually happens after the proposal, pre-wedding means before the wedding, post-wedding or day after means once it is done. Behind those five words the service is identical: an hour and a half, just the two of you, in a place you choose, and the same photos at the end. The only real difference is the timing. Before the wedding, the session prepares the day itself. After it, it gives back the time you never had: the dress comes out again, you go where you could not go, you wait for the right light instead of making do with the one you have.

What is a photo session before the wedding actually for?

Three things, in this order. Spending time in front of the camera with nothing at stake, so that on the day you no longer wonder what to do with your hands. Settling together what you like, what you dislike and how close you are comfortable being: it is a visual brief, and it saves discovering your taste during the couple portraits, while the cocktail hour is waiting. And leaving with images you can use right away, for the save the date, the invitations, the welcome sign or your wedding website. In practice the session happens between three months and a year before the date, and couples who have done one arrive relaxed on the morning of the wedding: it shows in the portraits. It is not included in the wedding package, it is priced alongside it, in the same quote.
