Wedding photographer in Melun

The Seine-et-Marne county town, the riverbanks, and Vaux-le-Vicomte ten minutes away.

Melun is the most practical starting point in Seine-et-Marne for a wedding: the county town, its town hall, the Île Saint-Étienne in the middle of the Seine, and above all the great estates a few minutes away — Vaux-le-Vicomte less than ten kilometres off, Blandy-les-Tours fifteen. Many couples hold the civil ceremony here before moving to a château for the reception. I travel from the Oise and cover the whole Paris region with no mileage fees.

The most common pattern in Melun: town hall in the morning, couple session by the Seine or on the Île Saint-Étienne, then off to the reception estate. That journey is the real scheduling issue, because it often falls exactly when the light is best.

The riverbanks offer water, trees and long perspectives five minutes from the town hall. That helps when the day is tight: the couple session gets done without making guests wait another half hour.

Vaux-le-Vicomte, Blandy-les-Tours, Bois-le-Roi, Le Châtelet-en-Brie: every reception venue in the area is within twenty minutes. I always scout the estate beforehand to know where the light falls at the end of the day.

The civil ceremony is the hardest moment of a wedding day to photograph: small room, artificial light, guests packed in. I work there without flash, with fast prime lenses, taking one position rather than circling the couple.

Melun is served by the RER D and trains from Paris Gare de Lyon, which matters when part of the guest list comes from the capital. A ceremony starting too early means half the room misses the beginning: that gets settled when we plan.

Private online gallery within four weeks, teaser in seven to ten days, usage rights included. I shoot solo or as a photo and video duo depending on the running order and the size of the wedding.

The signature venue

Melun is one of the oldest towns in the Paris region: mentioned by Caesar, a residence of the Capetian kings, it keeps its fortified island in the middle of the Seine and its 11th-century Notre-Dame collegiate church. County town of Seine-et-Marne, it is now the gateway to the great estates of the Brie.

Frequently asked questions

Do you print or create a photo book?

Yes — fine-art albums (canvas cover, matte photographic paper, French manufacturing) in 3 formats (20×20, 30×30, 30×45). Delivered with a presentation case. Count 4-6 weeks after layout approval.

How many photos are delivered on average?

Between 600 and 1200 retouched photos depending on coverage duration. All sharp, sorted chronologically, delivered in high resolution via a private downloadable gallery.

Do you do an engagement session before the wedding?

Yes — optional 1.5h session in a location chosen with you (urban exterior, nature, meaningful place). It's a chance to get used to the camera so the wedding day feels more natural.

Do you work as a duo with a videographer?

Yes — it's our most complete package. Photo + video on the same day with tight coordination so neither team blocks the other. You leave with two coherent deliverables.

How much does a wedding photographer cost?

In France, the range runs from €1,500 to €3,000 for a full day. Our packages start at €1,080, including the private online gallery, retouched photos and usage rights. What moves a quote is not the number of photos but the hours of coverage, whether a second shooter is present, and the deliverables: printed album, pre-wedding session, video alongside. Our prices are published on the pricing page, with no mandatory quote step.
