Wedding photographer in Fontainebleau

A royal château, the Cour des Adieux and a 25,000-hectare forest: the town offering the widest range of settings in a single day.

Fontainebleau brings together two settings rarely found in the same place: a royal château listed by UNESCO, with its horseshoe staircase and Grand Parterre, and a 25,000-hectare forest whose sandstone boulders exist nowhere else in the Paris region. In one day you move from monumental stone to woodland without covering ten kilometres. I travel from the Oise and cover the whole Paris region with no travel fees.

The Cour des Adieux and the horseshoe staircase are the images everyone expects, and they have to be earned: the site is busy, so you go early or late in the day. I say so when we build the schedule, not on the day itself when it is too late to shift things.

The forest is the asset couples underestimate. Sandstone boulders, ferns and sandy paths produce images that neither a château park nor a beach can give. Fifteen minutes is enough if you pick the right area, and I avoid the climbing spots where crowds gather.

Fontainebleau often pairs with a nearby estate for the reception: Barbizon, Bourron-Marlotte, Moret-sur-Loing, Samois. Journeys are short but forest roads are slow, and that is what I build into the photo schedule.

Indoors, the light in the historic rooms is beautiful but weak. I use fast prime lenses without flash, which keeps me discreet during ceremonies and preserves the atmosphere of the room rather than flattening it.

Autumn is the most underrated season here. The forest turns russet, visitors thin out, and low light rakes through the undergrowth. An October wedding in Fontainebleau produces images a July one never will.

I deliver a private online gallery within four weeks, with a teaser in seven to ten days. Usage rights are included, with no time limit on your personal media.

The signature venue

Residence of the kings of France from François I to Napoleon III, the château of Fontainebleau has been UNESCO World Heritage since 1981. The surrounding forest, a former royal hunting reserve, covers 25,000 hectares and remains one of the most visited woodlands in Europe.

Frequently asked questions

How long until we receive the photos?

30-photo preview gallery within 5 days, full retouched delivery in 4 to 8 weeks depending on the season. An email update notifies you at each stage.

How much does a wedding photo session cost?

Base package from €1,080 for a half-day. Full day between €1,800 and €2,800 depending on coverage and options. Custom quote after we discuss your brief, venue and timeline.

Do you print or create a photo book?

Yes — fine-art albums (canvas cover, matte photographic paper, French manufacturing) in 3 formats (20×20, 30×30, 30×45). Delivered with a presentation case. Count 4-6 weeks after layout approval.

Do you shoot film or all digital?

All digital with two Sony A7 full-frame bodies. Color consistency, delivery speed and low-light quality (indoor ceremonies, evening parties) demand digital. Film-look aesthetic available in post-production if you prefer.

How much does a wedding photographer cost?

In France, the range runs from €1,500 to €3,000 for a full day. Our packages start at €1,080, including the private online gallery, retouched photos and usage rights. What moves a quote is not the number of photos but the hours of coverage, whether a second shooter is present, and the deliverables: printed album, pre-wedding session, video alongside. Our prices are published on the pricing page, with no mandatory quote step.
