Wedding videographer in Amiens

Cathedral, Hortillonnages, Saint-Leu: cinematic shooting at the heart of Picardy.

Amiens and its region offer unique wedding settings: the Gothic cathedral for religious ceremonies, the Hortillonnages for photo/video sessions on traditional boats, the Saint-Leu district for waterside cocktails. I've been filming in Amiens for 7 years.

Weddings with cathedral ceremony in Amiens: multi-camera shooting (high fixed positions + main mobile camera). We strictly respect diocesan rules — no flash, limited movement, prior approval from the rector.

"Couple" sessions in the Hortillonnages (floating gardens accessible only by boat): exclusive cinematic moments, but tricky logistics. I come with an assistant to carry gear and stabilize shots from the boat.

For dinner and reception in Amiens itself, many privatized halls in Saint-Leu or downtown hotels. Discreet capture, light exploited fully — often vivid decorative lamps that we integrate into the composition.

The signature venue

Amiens is the Picard capital of premium weddings for video: UNESCO Notre-Dame cathedral (the largest Gothic cathedral in France), floating Hortillonnages unique in Europe. For film, the cathedral requires multi-camera capture without flash, and the Hortillonnages offer boat shots impossible elsewhere.

Joséphine & Armand Soues (80310) · zone Amiens — cérémonie religieuse · September 2022

Joséphine and Armand's wedding in September 2022: photo JB + video Sylvain, religious silver package. Particular care given to the parents in the edit — that is the video angle we cultivate: telling the wedding through the generations present, not only the couple.

Thomas & Inès Église Saint-Martin d'Amiens · Château des Granges · August 2025

Thomas and Inès's wedding in August 2025: 250 cocktail guests. Multi-camera video capture in the cathedral (two fixed high + one mobile main), then drone authorised at the Château des Granges. The groom's car filmed in a tracking shot in front of the church becomes the film's opening shot.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need both a photographer and a videographer, or can one person do both?

Both are possible and we do both. Solo means alternating: while filming you are not photographing, and vice versa. That is enough for a hundred-guest wedding with a simple running order, and it costs less. As a duo, each person holds their post and nothing is missed during moments that never happen twice: walking into the church, the vows, the first dance. Our photo and video duo package is offered at a discount compared with booking both separately.

How much does a wedding video cost?

Packages start at €1,080 for a half-day (ceremony + couple + cocktail). Count €1,800-2,800 for a full day with teaser + film. Custom quote based on your brief and venue.

Can you do photo and video on the same day?

Yes — it's actually our most requested package. Either as a duo (photographer + videographer on site) for visual consistency, or solo with mixed coverage depending on the event scope.

What does a wedding cameraman cost?

Cameraman, videographer or wedding filmmaker mean the same job in everyday language, with one nuance: a cameraman shoots, a videographer designs and edits the film. Our wedding video packages start at €1,080, editing included and the film delivered within four weeks. The French market ranges from €1,200 to €2,500 depending on coverage length and crew size. A markedly lower rate usually hides editing billed separately or filming without sound mixing.

What does a wedding videographer actually do?

They capture what photography cannot keep: sound. The voice during the vows, the best man's speech, the room laughing, the music of the first dance. In practice they scout the venue, fit discreet microphones on key speakers, film the day without directing it, then edit everything with clean sound mixing. Editing is as much work as filming: it is what turns eight hours of rushes into a six-to-ten-minute film people watch again.
