Weddings with photo/video session on the Planches boardwalk or the beach: a visual blessing, but a weather trap. I always plan a backup indoor scenario (library or hotel lounge) in case wind or rain prevents the outdoor session.
Ceremonies in private Deauville villas (day rentals): cozy atmosphere, limited space. Compact cameras, gimbal for movement, redundant audio to keep the vows audible above ambient noise.
Oise-Deauville travel is about 2.5h — departure the day before, hotel on site covered in the package. This lets me arrive fresh in the morning and film the couple's preparations at the hotel without rush.
The signature venue
Deauville is Normandy's chicest wedding resort for cinema film: created in 1860 by the Duke of Morny, the town concentrates an absolute rarity venue-side — Hôtel Barrière Le Normandy (1912, iconic half-timbered façade), Le Royal (1913), Belle Époque villas, classified Casino Barrière, and above all the mythical Planches (650-metre exotic-wood promenade). Drone is authorised outside the airport zone — possible vertical shots on the parasols. 2h from Paris via the A13.

Continuation of Thomas and Ludivine's filmed after-wedding session: after a full day at Versailles park side the previous week, we spent a second day in Deauville. The Planches mid-morning filmed on gimbal, the colourful parasols as long takes, the Casino Barrière, then a sunset held in light to the last minute — final edit 4 minutes in calibrated long takes. Without wedding-day pressure, the film breathes.

Can you do photo and video on the same day?
Yes — it's actually our most requested package. Either as a duo (photographer + videographer on site) for visual consistency, or solo with mixed coverage depending on the event scope.
What video deliverables do we receive?
A 60-90 second cinematic teaser (delivered within 5 days), a 10-15 minute edited wedding film with optional voiceover, and long takes on request. Everything is delivered in 4K via a private downloadable gallery.
Do we need both a photographer and a videographer, or can one person do both?
Both are possible and we do both. Solo means alternating: while filming you are not photographing, and vice versa. That is enough for a hundred-guest wedding with a simple running order, and it costs less. As a duo, each person holds their post and nothing is missed during moments that never happen twice: walking into the church, the vows, the first dance. Our photo and video duo package is offered at a discount compared with booking both separately.
What does a wedding cameraman cost?
Cameraman, videographer or wedding filmmaker mean the same job in everyday language, with one nuance: a cameraman shoots, a videographer designs and edits the film. Our wedding video packages start at €1,080, editing included and the film delivered within four weeks. The French market ranges from €1,200 to €2,500 depending on coverage length and crew size. A markedly lower rate usually hides editing billed separately or filming without sound mixing.
What does a wedding videographer actually do?
They capture what photography cannot keep: sound. The voice during the vows, the best man's speech, the room laughing, the music of the first dance. In practice they scout the venue, fit discreet microphones on key speakers, film the day without directing it, then edit everything with clean sound mixing. Editing is as much work as filming: it is what turns eight hours of rushes into a six-to-ten-minute film people watch again.
