Plaisir has an advantage few communes in the Paris region can claim: its town hall sits inside the Château de Plaisir, with its park around it. For a civil ceremony that means leaving the town hall into a château setting and shooting group photographs on a lawn instead of a forecourt. The town has 31,800 inhabitants, 13 kilometres west of Versailles and 30 from Paris, and half of its territory is forest or farmland: the Bois-d'Arcy state forest on one side, the Sainte-Apolline forest and its pond on the other. I travel from the Oise across the whole Paris region; travel is quoted up front.

The town hall inside the château is the starting point of almost every wedding in Plaisir, and it is a gift. A good town-hall exit comes down to three things: room for guests to spread out, a background that is not a street, and an orientation that does not put the couple into the sun. The town hall park gives all three.
The Saint-Pierre church dates from the mid-13th century. It is an old building, therefore dark: available light, wide open, no flash. I scout the position of the windows before the ceremony, because in a church of that period everything hinges on two or three light sources and you need to know which one lights the altar at which hour.
The Sainte-Apolline forest and its pond provide the natural setting here. Water, again, is what makes the difference late in the day: it reflects the sky and lifts light under faces. It is ten minutes from the centre, which makes the round trip possible even on a tight schedule.
Plaisir is a real town, with what that implies: Saturday traffic, limited parking, and reception venues that are not all within the commune. I scout access and travel times beforehand, because that is exactly where half-hours of photography get lost.
The Bois-d'Arcy state forest, to the north-east, is the alternative when Sainte-Apolline is busy or the light does not suit. Having two forest massifs within one commune is a rare comfort this close to Paris.
In a town of 32,000, civil ceremonies run back to back on Saturdays and slots are often around twenty minutes. That means being in position before the couple walks in, knowing the two angles that matter in the room, and never counting on a second take. It is very different from a village where you have the morning to yourself, and it takes preparation.
The Château de Plaisir, now the town hall, and its park form the old heart of a commune that grew a great deal in the 20th century: Plaisir now has nearly 32,000 inhabitants while keeping half its territory as forest and farmland. The Saint-Pierre church, from the mid-13th century, is the oldest building in town.

Frequently asked questions
What poses should we plan for a couple photo session?
None, and that is deliberate. Learned poses show in the photos: couples look like they are holding a position rather than living a moment. We give simple directions, walk, talk to each other, turn around, and we photograph what happens between two instructions. That is exactly what a pre-wedding session is for, included in our packages: you get used to the lens when nothing is at stake, so on the wedding day that step is already behind you.
How many photos are delivered on average?
Between 600 and 1200 retouched photos depending on coverage duration. All sharp, sorted chronologically, delivered in high resolution via a private downloadable gallery.
What's your photographic style?
Cinematic reportage: we capture real moments without interrupting, with a subtle warm finish. A few staged portraits as a complement, but the DNA remains auteur photography — sensitive and crafted.
Are you a full-time photographer?
Yes — 10 years of experience exclusively in weddings and events. Cassandra handles bookings and communication, Jean-Baptiste shoots, Mounir and Peter join for duo coverage.
How much does a wedding photographer cost?
In France, the range runs from €1,500 to €3,000 for a full day. Our packages start at €1,080, including the private online gallery, retouched photos and usage rights. What moves a quote is not the number of photos but the hours of coverage, whether a second shooter is present, and the deliverables: printed album, pre-wedding session, video alongside. Our prices are published on the pricing page, with no mandatory quote step.
