History of Château de Lamorlaye
Les premières fortifications du site remontent à 1199, élevées par Henri de Saint-Denis. Antoine de Bussy reconstruit le château en 1527 sur les ruines de cette forteresse médiévale. En 1679, Louis de Bourbon, prince de Condé, en prend possession. La structure actuelle prend forme à partir de 1838 après destruction par les troupes prussiennes ; en 1872, Joseph Vigier fait ajouter l'aile gauche sous la direction de l'architecte Ernest Sanson. Le parc, ramené à 6 hectares (contre 87 à l'origine), est classé monument historique. La commune de Lamorlaye rachète le domaine en janvier 2005 ; la restauration s'achève en 2016.

En milieu d'après-midi pour une réception estivale : le parc de 6 hectares orienté vers l'ouest protège la terrasse du vent dominant et la lumière filtrée par les arbres centenaires donne une base douce pour les portraits depuis la borne sans recourir à un flash frontal.
The spot that lifts every selfie
L'aile gauche ajoutée par Sanson en 1872 forme un retour d'équerre qui crée une cour intérieure semi-ouverte : photographier depuis cet angle en légère surplomb donne une profondeur de champ sur deux façades à la fois, avec le parc classé en arrière-plan. Les pierres de taille beiges contrastent fortement avec le vert sombre des grands arbres centenaires qui bordent l'allée d'accès.
